He began his apprenticeship in the art of woodcarving at the age of 13, under Mr. Mário da Abolim, with whom he worked for six years. He then moved to the workshop of master Belmiro Pacheco to perfect his technique and deepen his knowledge of the art of woodcarving. He began working as a cabinetmaker in 2000 and, until his retirement, divided his time between cabinetmaking and antique restoration.
Today, now retired, he dedicates himself 100% to the art of restoration. For Alberto, restoration is a constant challenge because no two pieces are alike: he maintains that a keen sensitivity is required to understand exactly what each piece needs to be recovered, while always preserving its original history and identity.
