The III International Biennial of Wood Arts of Paredes (BIAMP) is integrated into the Paredes Municipality’s strategy to reinforce the economic and social importance of industries and crafts that work with and from wood.
The curatorial theme is “Children of the Earth, Children of the Forest,” an expression used colloquially to poetically describe those who transform wood into something useful or beautiful. Based on this, the Biennial proposes a multidisciplinary artistic program that values and highlights what already exists: the industrial heritage, the workshop memory, and the factories of the municipality, which host several of the initiatives.
Between September and November, the cultural program intertwines plastic and visual arts, theater, music, thought, ethnography and folklore, poetry, and performance, at the Furniture Museum and in six factories in Paredes.
